About Lisa Monai
Registered Nurse | Breast Cancer Survivor | Patient Advocate | Speaker | Medical Wig Specialist | Entrepreneur
Her Story
Lisa Monai is a Registered Nurse, breast cancer survivor, entrepreneur, patient advocate, and founder of Sisters In Arms. Her journey has been marked by resilience, compassion, and a deep commitment to serving others.
As a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Lisa brought clinical expertise and healthcare knowledge to her professional work. But it was her personal journey through breast cancer that transformed her purpose and calling.
The Cancer Journey
Lisa's battle with Stage III breast cancer required her to navigate one of life's most challenging experiences. She underwent chemotherapy, bilateral mastectomy with reconstruction, and endocrine therapy. Throughout this journey, she faced a critical realization: patients often feel overwhelmed by complex medical information and life-changing decisions.
During her treatment and recovery, Lisa discovered gaps in patient advocacy and education. Women navigating cancer needed someone who understood both the clinical realities and the emotional toll. They needed someone who could bridge the gap between medicine and compassion.
Nursing Experience Meets Lived Experience
Lisa's nursing background gave her the clinical knowledge to explain complex medical concepts in accessible ways. Her personal cancer experience gave her the empathy and understanding that only a survivor can offer. This unique combination became the foundation for Sisters In Arms and everything that followed.
She realized that no woman should have to walk through breast cancer alone—without guidance, education, or someone who truly understands both the medical and emotional journey.
Mission & Purpose
Today, Lisa's mission is simple yet powerful: To educate. To empower. To advocate. To inspire women to reclaim their lives.
Through Sisters In Arms, Lisa Monai Beauty, her speaking engagements, and future healthcare consulting work, she continues to educate, empower, and support women facing breast cancer and medical hair loss.
